What does French-certified mean?

Pierre Basbous trained and certified in France. He is the only French-certified piano restorer in Lebanon, and every restoration that leaves this atelier carries that standard.

Is my old piano worth restoring?

Sometimes yes, sometimes honestly no. We look at the soundboard, the pinblock and the frame first. If the instrument does not justify the work, we tell you straight rather than sell you a restoration.

How long does a restoration take?

Accepted Answer

It depends entirely on what we are working on. A regulation or an action repair is quick. A full rebuild with soundboard and restringing is a far longer road. You get a realistic timeline before anything begins.

Question 4

Do you take the whole piano away?

Accepted Answer

Not always. Often we remove only the mechanism and work on it in the atelier while the body stays at home with you. When the work reaches the soundboard, the frame or the cabinet, the instrument comes to us.

Will the piano look new afterwards?

Accepted Answer

Cabinet refinishing is part of the work if you want it. Some owners prefer to keep the marks a century of playing left behind. That is your call, not ours.
